An additional contingent of 20 laptops were made available to Smith County School District and ear marked for Forks River Elementary School. The foundation is thankful for the donations that continue to come in during the year outside of our pledge drive. The supplemental donations allowed us to make one more classroom donation. We are very happy with the outcome and encourage our donors and our directors to keep up the good work.

2017: AT Hike in honor of Yohan and generate awareness for the Yohan Abraham Foundation

Yohan's brother Stefan Abraham (and President of YAF) is undertaking a hike from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail. Yohan and Stefan planned to do this hike and this precipitated his decision to do it alone. Yohan will be there in spirit all the way. Stefan set out on Saturday April 15th on this gargantuan task.

Enclosed is a link to some pictures we snapped at Springer mountain where the trail starts. Notice the shoes I (Paul Abraham) am wearing. They are Yohan's boots and I will wear them along parts of the trail where I join Stefan on his journey

About Forks River Elementary & Middle School

The average number of students for elementary schools in Tennessee is 462, so Forks River Elementary is very small. The student to teacher ratio is 16:1, which is approximately the average for all US elementary schools (15.5) and significantly higher than the average for elementary schools in Tennessee (14.8).

” Yohan and I enjoyed being active members in our community, and it was our hope to be able to continue to give back to the students and staff at Forks River for years to come. Yohan had a love of learning and an interest in innovative technologies. The donation of the chromebooks is a wonderful expression of who Yohan was and what he stood for.” – Mandy Beaty, Teacher at Forks River School and fiance to Yohan Abraham
